I am the school social worker at Joseph W. Grier Academy. One of my parents, Ronda Perry, has a 4th grader with Autism at my school. The past few months have been tricky for Ms. Perry and her family, as she just moved into a new apartment the week of March 10th before Covid-19 hit Charlotte. Ms. Perry’s employer was not sensitive to the situation in which childcare was no longer available. Ms. Perry was forced to quit her job to stay home with her special needs children. The end result is that she is significantly behind on rent and has a court date soon for eviction. Any amount of funding will be helpful to help this family stay on their feet.
